When I click the Add to GroceryZen button in email, GroceryZen starts, but nothing happens. What's going on?

How do I make GroceryZen show up in my language?

This can happen when the iPhone is not set to your language when GroceryZen is installed.

For example, with Dutch:
1. On the iPhone, tap on Settings > General > International > Language, then select your language, such as Nederlands.
2. After that, the buttons in GroceryZen should display in your language, but the items will still be in English.
3. To change the items, aisles, and recipes to your language, delete and download the application again from the App Store. (this will be free, don't worry)

How do I reorder the aisles or create new aisles?

1. From the Shop tab, touch the Edit button (upper right corner).
2. An Aisle button will appear in the upper left. Touch it.
3. To reorder an aisle, touch and drag the item's re-order icon up or down in the list.
4. Also, note that you can add your own aisles by touching the Add Aisle > item at the bottom of the list.
5. To add aisle numbers, just tap on the name to edit it, and add a number.

Is there any way to sync, share, or to enter new items from the computer?

Unfortunately, not yet. We're looking into that for a future version.

How do I use a picture from the web in my recipe?

1. Within Mobile Safari, navigate to the web page containing the recipe picture you would like to use.
2. Touch and hold your finger on the recipe picture. Safari will ask you if you would like to Save Image.
3. Touch the Save Image button to save it in the Camera Roll.
4. Launch GroceryZen and go to the Recipes tab screen.
5. Touch the recipe you would like to edit, like "Thai Chicken Wraps". This will bring up the recipe details screen.
6. Touch the Edit button to edit the recipe.
7. Touch the Add Photo thumbnail button to change it. Select Choose Existing Photo.
8. Navigate to the saved picture in the Camera Roll and select the Choose button.
9. On the recipe details screen, touch Done to save your changes.

How do I back up my GroceryZen grocery list and recipes?

Just sync your phone with iTunes. iTunes will take care of backing up your GroceryZen data. You're protected in case your phone crashes.

Can I enter a whole recipe into GroceryZen?

Sure, although GroceryZen is more for shopping than cooking. Cooking is messy, and I like to have my iPhone in my pocket.

However, you can email the recipe steps to yourself, or go to its web page, and copy and paste the instructions into the notes for the recipe.

How do I link to recipes on the web?

Use this bookmarklet!

Add to GroceryZen...

To use, drag the above link into Safari’s Bookmarks Bar and synch it to your iPhone or iPod Touch with iTunes. When you're on a recipe website that you want to add, bring up the Bookmarks Bar folder on your iPhone and tap the Add to GroceryZen bookmarklet.

This will add the recipes name and website as a new recipe. It's also a good idea to download a picture of the recipe first, by following the instructions in the earlier FAQ.

When I click the Add to GroceryZen button in email, GroceryZen starts, but nothing happens. What's going on?

This seems to happen sometimes, and it's an issue I'm going to work with Apple to resolve. Try clicking it again, sometimes waiting a few seconds in the Mail program helps. If it keeps happening, try having the person who sent you the message change the list slightly. I'll work with Apple on a fix and get an update as soon as I can.
